Membership categories

Please note that there are two categories of membership:
1. Full Membership is for academic staff in our field at UK institutions of higher learning.
2. Associate membership is for postgraduate research students, retired academic staff, overseas members, independent scholars and others. Please note that applications for Associate Membership need to be proposed and seconded by current Full Members of BASEES and are subject to approval of the BASEES Committee.
For more details of membership categories, please refer to the BASEES Constitution. Annual membership subscriptions are £25 for full members and £15 for associate members. There is a joining fee of £10 for full members and £5 for associate members. Membership is by calendar year. Subscriptions are due at the start of January each year.

Application Procedure

1. APPLICATION FORM
Please download, print out, and complete both sides of the application form. (If you are eligible for associate membership, please arrange for your application to be proposed and seconded by full members of BASEES.)
2. PAYMENT FORM
Please download the payment form (direct debit or payment by debit/credit card), print out the form, and complete the appropriate part. Our preferred method of payment is Direct Debit. Alternatively, write a cheque for your first year's subscription made out to 'CAF/BASEES'.

Membership

Information about all members is added to the BASEES Membership Directory on the web. The first version of the web Directory is now available. It is accessible to members only by password, which also allows access to the newsletter. Username and password can be found in the BASEES newsletter sent to members three time a year. Please read FURTHER INFORMATION ON THE WEB DIRECTORY. If, after reading the further information, you do NOT want to be included, please download, print out, and complete the slip at the bottom of the 'further information' file and include it with your application for membership.

Please POST the completed FORMS to: Dr Jenny Mathers, BASEES Membership Secretary, Dept of International Politics , University of Aberystwyth, Aberystwyth SY23 3DA, Wales, UK

The membership secretary will then forward your application and payment to CAF, Kings Hill, West Mailing, Kent, ME19 4TA, which manages the BASEES membership.
